“In 2009, In-Shape Health Clubs was set to embark on an aggressive, growth-oriented campaign throughout California. In order to achieve this, we had to fill vital needs in design, construction and overall development. Typically, filling these positions would require the hiring of 3 separate individuals. We were incredibly fortunate, however, to find one person, Brendan Kelly, who possessed the experience and qualities we needed in all 3 areas. We hired Brendan in mid-2009 as our SVP of Development. Brendan’s background as an incredible architect and leader of a large design firm coupled with his unique experience overseeing construction and development projects made him the perfect fit for our company. From 2009 to 2017, Brendan was the leader of In-Shape’s spirited growth story, one that included site procurement, design and development of over 65 health club properties from 4000 to 75000 sf. These projects included ‘greenfield’ as well as major repositioning of 2nd-generation buildings and properties. While overseeing a budget well in excess of $100 MM during this time, Brendan ensured our projects were delivered ‘on time and under budget’. Brendan’s leadership in all areas of development were continually acknowledged and his focus on the many details of construction and project management were vital to our success. ”
